I am a lover of video taking and making. These videos are my amateur attempts to capture portions of my life with video. They are here for your viewing pleasure in reverse chronological order.

Day two of the Arts Journalism Immersion in New York City, we visit Carston Holler’s exhibit Experience.

The Goldring Arts Journalism takes New York City.

When I moved to Syracuse, my parents moved to Los Angeles, and I made this on my first trip to visit them. We went to The Getty and Santa Monica.

Day Two of the Toronto International Film Festival: we explore the city, looking for the CN tower and eventually end up back at the movie theaters.

The Goldring Arts Journalism program sent us to the Toronto International Film Festival for the weekend.

Moe.down 12. Chris’ Dad gave us all-access passes to the annual Moe.down festival.

The Perception of Beauty: My friend Brian Brister did a research project on ‘What is Beauty?’ and I put together a video for his final presentation. I make an appearance in this video!

Newhouse Bootcamp Drill: One Monday morning of the Master’s bootcamp, instead of class we had an emergency drill that we were assigned to cover as if we were professional journalists. So I filmed it and put kitschy music in the background. 🙂

Skaneateles, y’all! : Chris Baker and I spent a summer afternoon on Skaneateles lake.

Day at the Lakes: The crew explores the lakes and state parks around Syracuse. After not finding anywhere to swim, we start to get frustrated.

Exploring my new school: On my lunch break, Tuesday July 12 I decided to make a video of my school. It’s an introduction to the Newhouse building and a small piece of the rest of campus.

Exploring my new home: After arriving at graduate school in Syracuse, New York. My new friend Ryan Shanley and I explore the downtown area, including Armory Square, Hanover Square, Clinton Square and Dinosaur BBQ.

That time I moved to New York: Dad and I make the trek to graduate school with four 49-lb suitcases and extra large carry-ons. We flew to Philly, grabbed cheesesteaks for lunch and drove the rest of the way to Syracuse.

Hawaii Homevideos
This is a series of videos from my family’s 2011 vacation to Hawaii.

As our 2011 summer family vacation winds to a close, we bodysurfed the waves, buried Jennifer in the sand and explored the island of Kauai.

We island hopped to Kauai from Oahu for the last three days of our trip. This video is my personal favorite, as it contains my best editing work and some of the funnier moments caught on camera. We were beyond impressed with our hotel: the St. Regis- Princeville.

Kristin and I demanded a day at Pearl Harbor, but no one else wanted to go with us. So the two of us made a day of it, visiting the Battleship Missouri (on accident!) and the Arizona Memorial.

The second day on Oahu, we spent most of the time on the beach. For dinner that night we went down to the tourist side of Wakiki Beach near Diamondhead to Azure in the Royal Hawaiian hotel.

One of the Smart family’s favorite vacation spot is Hawaii. This time we began our vacation in Oahu.
